"I love this place" is a comment that's being made by many of the patrons who have recently discovered this little diamond in the rough on the outskirts of Etobicoke. Located on 3687 Lake Shore Blvd. West (just east of Browns Line), Pulnicella Ristorante Italiano is the real deal. Designed by co-owners Andrea Larsen & Mario Boccia, the décor and food are authentic Italian, and then some. When you walk into Pulnicella, you'll get the feeling that you've walked into a restaurant in old rural Italy. With it's stonework, high-coffered ceiling and Italian oil paintings, the tone is set for an culinary experience to remember. After starting off with one of the many great wines offered, you might want to indulge in something really pleasing to the senses. Pulnicella has many culinary delights to choose from, including a charcuterie board featuring artisanal cured meats, chunks of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and in-house Giardiniara (pickled vegetables). For a large group, the charcuterie board is served up on a four-foot long slab of walnut wood. Wow! Chef Phillip del Grosso's interpretation of authentic Italian food is evident from the moment you bite into his Wild Boar Meatballs (served with tagliatelle pasta) or the Pasta Fagiole Duo. Hopefully, you'll still find room in your stomach afterwards for one of our delectable desserts like the "to die for" Frangelico Crème Brulee. Finish off your evening with cognac in the cozy Piano Lounge on the lower level, which also serves as a private party room. |
