San Remo Ristorante, located at 1731 Lakeshore Rd. West in Clarkson, is combining classic Italian cuisine with a modern feel to create a unique culinary experience.

Named after the city of San Remo, located on the Italian Riviera between the Mediterranean Sea and the Maritime Alps, the restaurant offers fine Italian cuisine, all without taking a trip to Italy.

All of the dishes are freshly made (not frozen), and feature some of the finest Italian ingredients. Choose from more than 30 menu items, including pastas like Rigatoni Gorgonzola and Gnocchi San Remo, bruschetta, stuffed chicken breasts, veal scallopini, specialty dishes like grilled squid with garlic, and much more.

The interior of the restaurant features a combination of old world eclectic and stylish contemporary décor, providing the comfort and warmth of a traditional Italian restaurant. San Remo is proving to be a hit with guests of all ages, said manager Jennifer Santos.

"It's quiet and classy without being too formal," Santos said. Ever since the restaurant opened in February, the response from the community has been incredibly positive, she said.

The restaurant also features an open-style kitchen, where guests can watch their food being freshly prepared by Executive Chef Alberto Del Papa.

“Everyone loves the food, and they love that it's made fresh," said Del Papa.
