How serious are you about making your hair healthier, shinier or more managable to work with? There are many tools, products and (yes) hairstylists out there. Whether you're ready to make that leap of faith or not, remember this: whatever you choose, it has to suit you, be it colour, length cut or lifestyle.

Looking for a hairstylist can be daunting. How do you know if you've chosen the right one?

Good question!

First, choose a style you think will suit you. Look at the face, colour and texture of the person who's wearing the style you want. When you've decided, ask someone who's hair you admire. Then call for an appointment.

During your appointment, if your shampoo is performed before your consultation, you're stuck. However, if your consultation takes place before the shampoo, you're good. It's best to look at how your hair colour and hair cut work together, as long as it suits you. Always look at the sample swatch in sunlight near a window or go outside. Colours under natural and artificial light will look different.

Think about your chosen style, and whether or not it suits the style of your face, your lifestyle and your colour.

You see, some colours work well with certain haircuts and styles, along with skin tone. Remember, this year's fashions are all back to natural colours and styles, with a less-structured and dated look. They come in all combinations: long, short or mid-length, blonde or not.

Today's products are also much better for your scalp and hair. To maintain these easier styles and colours, it's important that the right products are also used on your head.

It has come to my attention that, for many years now, people have walked around with dry, itchy scalps. No matter how hard they try, it just doesn't go away.

Well, speaking from experience, I had the same problem. I discovered that I had an allergy to sulfates! That may not be the only ingredient that one could be allergic to, but it's definitely something to consider. I've decided to go green...and it works!

So, whether you're asking yourself, “Do I just want to make my hair easier?” or just want a consultation, I am always willing to help with your hair. Don't hesitate to call or e-mail me.
