For 25 years, one Port Credit business has brought a touch of class to the community.

Private Moments Lingerie & Ladies' Wear, located at 259 Lakeshore Road East, celebrates its anniversary this year with new fashions and new products (including outerwear) for women of all ages. For store owner Marion Klinnert, it's been rewarding work making women feel more comfortable in the clothing they wear.

Private Moments opened on April 2, 1985, and has grown over the years to encompass a wide variety of women's wear, including lingerie, accessories, workout wear, shoes, blouses, skirts, designer jeans and more.

The store offers products from some of the top European manufacturers, including Anita, Valisiere, Triumph, Chantelle and more.

Klinnert, who formerly worked as a wholesale dealer, said that the community has played a large role in the store's success. “Over the years, I've helped correct clothing challenges,” she says, referring to her clients' needs for quality women's wear.

The products offered by the store are described as an “affordable luxury” by Klinnert, because they are comfortable, well-made and won't break a customer's bank.

Private Moments also expanded its product line to include outerwear and form-fitting garments. The store also specializes in mastectomy products (which includes prosthesis and outer garments) , and bills itself as the only such provider in southern Mississauga.

In addition, the “Annex” portion of the store (an upper floor) has been a hit with the community ever since it opened two years ago.

Generations of customers have come and gone through the store, but that hasn't stopped Marion from keeping in touch with the community through various local events and social media.

One thing is for certain, she says: the customer always comes first. “I'm a stickler for service,” she said.

Marion says that she is very satisfied with what she has accomplished over the last 25 years. As for the future, Marion said she looks forward to serving the residents of the community for many years to come.
