Wondering what to do this Canada Day? Join more than 30,000 people as Port Credit celebrates its 175th Anniversary during the 7th annual Paint The Town Red Canada Day Festival!

Featuring a commemorative village-wide parade, decade bands, special ceremonies and lots of activities, there's lots to see and do for residents of all ages.

Starting at 5:30 a.m., kick off the celebration with a sunrise ceremony led by Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation at Memorial Park, followed by live entertainment beginning at 10 a.m. in the park. Featured performers include performances by the Mississaugas of New Credit and decade bands, hosted by emcee Johnny Max. Plus, special heritage-themed events will be held throughout the park all day!
The centerpiece of the celebrations will be the 175th Anniversary Parade, which begins at the corner of Lakeshore Road and Front Street. Many floats, marching bands and well-wishers will march through the village to celebrate in style!

The parade will finish at La Villa Bakery (located at the corner of Lakeshore and Wenonah Avenue), where a special giant Canada Day cake-cutting ceremony and O Canada sing-along will be held at 12:30 p.m. Special guests will be on hand, including Mayor Hazel McCallion.
The "Taste of Canada" will be also held all day at various restaurants across the village. Look for the flags of Canadian provinces that will be placed in front of participating restaurants, which will all serve unique dishes throughout the day!

At 6 p.m., the main stage entertainment kicks off at the Port Credit Memorial Park main stage with the Legends – Live In Concert 2010 Tribute series, featuring acts like Shania Twain, The Bee Gees, Tom Jones, Lady Gaga and more!

Finally, at 9:45 p.m., gather in Port Credit Memorial Park to take part in a massive O Canada sing-along and massive fireworks display!
Paint The Town Red is more than just a show of national pride – it's a party! Over the past few years, more than 150,000 have visited Port Credit on Canada Day., and 2010 promises to be even better.
