Sunny skies...a cool breeze washing over you...a drink in your hand...and some great company.

No, you're not sitting on the beach – but you can create that experience this summer by visiting any of the numerous patio restaurants located in Mississauga and Etobicoke.

From lakeside restaurants to rooftop patios (and everything in between), there are many places available for customers to relax and have a cold drink, enjoy great food and have great conversations with friends and family.

The roots of the word "patio" can be traced back to Spain in the 18th century. Originally known as an inner court (open to the sky) in a Spanish or Spanish-American house, the word has become synonymous in other cultures as a courtyard or paved area adjoining a house or restaurant.

Today, there are many types of patios for all occasions. Whether it's adjacent to the street, on a roof or nestled away behind the building, patios are a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy yourself.
In the evening, the patio is a great place to stop and enjoy local entertainment from artists in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. From rock to jazz, there's music for all tastes.

Feeling hungry? Many patios also offer a full selection of menu options, from standard bar fare to gourmet dishes and specialty items.
With so many patios in the area, it may be hard to decide which one you'll want to visit – so why not visit all of them?

Whether you're hanging out with friends, going on a date or just want to enjoy a cool drink on a sunny day, visit any of the local patios in Mississauga and Etobicoke. You won't be disappointed.
